The tiniest baby in the world was born at Hackney a few weeks ago. She is a twin and weighed only 11b at birth. Her sister, weighing 3ilb, died. Mrs Clark, her grandmother, said: “I wrapped her in cottonwool, covered her w-ith a woollen shawl, and put her in a sowing machine box. Then 1 put in hot-water bottles and placed the box before the fire, which is kept going day and night.” Only one other case of a 11b baby who survived is on record.
