SEVENTY MILLION DOLLAR DEAL. Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright NEW YORK, January 16. (Received Jan. 16, at 9.45- p.m.) It is announced that the Anaconda Copper Mining Company has paid 70,000,000 dollars for a controlling interest in the Chile Copper Company, which controls the largest known copper ore field in the world. A new loan of 50,000,000 dollars will be floated to finance the deal, and to provide the necessary working capital. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
