What had the appearance of promising to be an adventurous and romantic honeymoon trip on the part of a young couple in Now Plymouth was intercepted and prevented by the police through the indiscretion of the bridegroom in endeavouring (presumably without the knowledge of the bride) to finance the undertaking on the good norm, of.his mother's banking account. The principal actor in the little drama (says the 'jaranuki Herald) was a young man named .Sydney Frank Langley, who apparently conceived the idea of fitting himself out in new clothes, and also assisting his fiancee in the procuring of her wedding trousseau at the expense of someone else. Ho also managed to secure possession of a £4OO motor car by means of a forged cheque for £45, which was accepted as a deposit on the transaction by a salesman for a Wa-
nganui firm of dealers. Having made there minor preparations for the event, nothing remained hut for the marriage to take, place. But the fates intervened, and Langley was charged with forgery at the Magistrate's Court at New Plymouth on Saturday, and. having pleaded guilty, he was committed for sentence to the next, session of the Supreme Court to be held at New Plymouth on February 20.
