(Received Jan. 11, at 9.50 p.m.) The counting for four Senate scats is still incomplete but the indications are now that the Senate will consist of 24 anti-Labour members and 12 Labour. When the dissolution was granted the Senate consisted of 34 Nationalists and two Labour. Of tho 19 retiring senators, 18 were Nationalists. All sought re-elec-tion. Twelve of them have so far been defeated, and only two elected. FRENCH SHIPS SAIL. SYDNEY, January 11. (Received Jan. 11, at 9.35 p.m.) The French warships have concluded their visit. The flagship, Jules Michelet, sailed during the. afternoon for New Zealand and Noumea, and the Victor Hugo for Eastern States, en routo to Japanese waters, where they will meet again. Admiral Gilbv, in a farewell message, expresses gratification at the friendship shown to France and Frenchmen by Australians.
