The gate receipts were considerably increased, ithough the money invested on the totalisator showed a decrease of 2336, the total being i£6300. Some excellent racing was witnessed, close finishes being the order of the day. The blurting under Mr Keddell was good. Quite' а. feature of the meeting was the presentation by Dr Harrison of the cup to the owner of Daphne Bird (Mr Gallagher); also ,ih© presentation of the Lochella cup by the president to the veteran sport, Mr John Clare, the owner of Cartoon. The decorating of Cartoon by Mrs Scoular with the blue riband, presented by Mr A. Nicolson, gave a very pretty effect to the proceedings. The management of the meeting was excellent.
