A BUSY PORT
Since the Now Year holidays the port has been exceptionally busy, and all the available labour has been engaged on several overseas and coastal vessels. Yesterday morning the Commonwealth and Dominion Lino steamer Port Darwin, from Liverpool, via Panama, northern ports, and Lyttelton, arrived, and berthed at the Victoria wharf to discharge over ICCO tons of general cargo. The Kaitangata, Whangape, Waipori, and Waihora continued working, the Waipori sailing in the afternoon fen- Lyttelton and Grcyrnouth. Iho Wingatui, from Auckland, via ports, arrived last night. The Waihora loaded about 30CO tons of Eastern merchandise, consisting principally of cases of pineapples, rice, sago. etc. At, Samarang she loaded about 2000 tons, mostly kapok and vies. On arriving at Bunbury, sho loaded 2000 tons of hardwood. It is hoped to despatch her to-day for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The coastal steamers Kahika and Kini are due here to-day .to load for northern ports. The Calm is due hero to-morrow, and will commence loading the next day for Wanganui, via ports. The G. and D. liner Port Lincoln, and the A. and A. Line steamer City of Newcastle are I also duo here to-morrow.
