MIGRATORY CRIMINALS
SYDNEY WANTS NEW ZEALAND , DETECTIVES. Press Association—By Iclegrapji—Copyright SYDNEY, January 5. The Daily Telegraph, in dealing with the influx of criminals and the need for an exchange of detectives, says that attempts to establish a-scheme for the interchange of detectives between New South Wales and New Zealand failed owing to the lack of interest displayed bv the dominion authorities. In .emphasising the value of such an exchange, the Telegraph states: “Now South Wales recently suffered an epidemic of safe-blowing. There were 15 cases in a few- months. When the offenders were caught they proved to be New Zealand criminals. Had New Zealand had here like the other States have, the epidemic might have been effectively handled.”
