LOUIS BEN NISON SEASON. At His Majesty’s Theatre on Friday next J. C. Williamson (Ltd.) present the famous romantio actor, Louis Beilinson, together with their powerful company, in a scries of three plays, opening with “Johnny. Get Your Gun.” for three nights, followed by two nights each of ‘‘The Lady Of My Dreams,” and “The Great. Lover.” Louis Bennison as Johnny Wiggins in ‘‘Johnny, Get Your Gun” (cowboy and gentleman) lias appeared in his role in America for over three years with great success, and since his first appearance in Australia early in the year has continued a series of triumphs. The play, which is for laughing purposes principally, also contains plenty of thrills and dramatic action, and throughout has a delightful' love affair gelling mixed up in its many scones. It is interesting to picture lovers as well as theatre-goers, for Louis Bcnniso.il is a star of the screen, as well as of the stage, and in the prologue of ihe play is shown the taking of a picture in a movie studio in Los Angelos. Louis Bennison, the cowboy of the movie picture, when lie enters society and saves a young girl and her fortune from the designs of a scheming aunt a.nd designing duke, falls violently in love himself, and generally upsets the affairs of a house that, needed so doing, providing a quaint characterisation full of delightful acting. A powerful company supporting the star includes Marjorie Bennett. George Blunt. Robert E. Homans, Dorothy Seicombe. Roger Barry, Leslie Victor, J. B. Athol wood, George Bryant, Mario Eaton, Nellie Mortyne. Gwen Burroughs. Vivian Edwards, Lou Vernon, Leonard Nugent, I’hvllis Lawrence. A. Barhaves, Svbil Lubia, Edward Moncrieff, and Lillian Nightingale. The tour in the north has "been exceptionally successful, and theatregoers may confidently look forward to a most enjoyable season here. The second production, which will be staged for two nights only, is a drama of life in tho bohemian quarter of Rome, entitled ‘‘The lady of My Dreams.” It was recently produced in Wellington for the first time in Australasia, and scored a decided triumph, there being ns mauv as fen curtain calls at the finish of tho play. A romantio comedy-drama, “The Great Lover,” will be staged on the last two nights of the season. It is a story of life behind tho velvet curtains of the theatre, showing that alluring make-believo land with its fascinating people. The box plan for tho three productions will be opened on Wednesday at the Bristol.
