GERMAN WAITERS
RUSH FOR ENGLISH PASSPORTS. Press 'Association —By Telegraph —Copyright LONDON. January 3. With the removal of the reservation against immigration to Britain, there is hardly a German waiter who worked in England before the war who does not wish to return. A great rush for passports was checked by the announcement of the Homo Secretary that he would grant permits to urospectivo _ employers. Waiters have written to their old employers asking them to obtain permits. Their desire to return to England is increased by the fact that thev have lost all chance of recovering their old jobs in Switzerland and Holland, where Swiss and Duttch waiters have obtained their places. Only 3000 Germans are working in foreign countries in Europe. —A. and N.Z. Cable. \ :
