GERMANY’S VENTURE. ATTEMPT TO FORESTALL BRITAIN. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, January 2. (Received Jan. 5, at 8.15 p.m.) The German Government is feverishly fitting out the ex-Kaiser’s yacht, the Hohenzollern, as a commercial exhibition ship, in which it is intended to commence a voyage to various parts of the British Empire in a few weeks’ time.—A. and N.Z. (Received Jan. 3, at 8.45 p.m.) In connection with the German Government’s fitting out of the ex-Kaiser’s yacht, it is understood that the action is intended to forestall the British trade ship which will sail for the dominions in March.—A. and N.Z.
