FISCAL SYSTEM ANNOUNCED REMOVAL OP CUSTOMS BARRIERS. .gross Association—By Telegraph—Copyright ROME, January 1. Milan reports state that Signor Arnaldo Mussolini, brother of the Prime Minister and director of the newspaper II Populi D’Ttalia, the chief Fascisti journal, announces that the Italian Government will shortly sweep away tho import duties and give Italy a fiscal system practically corresponding to English free trade. ■ Tho Government believes that the customs barriers are doing incalculable harm, and that the time is opportune for a change as a wave of self-reliance is sweeping over the country, and many realise that the hastily drafted tariff law of July, 1921, has had a bad effect. The fall of the tariff walls will offer greater opportunities to British traders. Already Britain is recovering her coal trade. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
