DUNEDIN PIPE BAND SECOND. SOUTHLAND THIRD, (Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 27. At the Caledonian sports to-day Wellington was placed first in the pipe band contest for the Adam Monro and the John Begg Challenge Cup, the Dunedin Highland Pipe Band was second, and the Southland "Pipe Band third. The lament was won by Piper M'Millan, of Canterbury, Morrison, of Wellington being second. M‘Donald, who was most successful on the opening day, was third. The Strathspey and reel contest went to Piper Thomas Munro (Dunedin). Walton, of Christchurch, and Guild, of Blenheim, were second. Dancing Events.—Men: D. M'Kenzie 1, K. Brown 2. M'Combie 3. Girls: Joan M'Kenzie 1, P. M'Millan 2, Jean M‘Lachlan 5. N. M'Combie was the most successful competitor in athletic events. Hawera won the inter-club .relay race, Athletic Club second. No records were broken in the running or walking events. Several races for ladies attracted considerable interest.
