IZAAK WALTON'S COTTAGE

PURCHASE ARRANGED FOR. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyrigal NEW YORK, December 27. (Received Dec. 27, at 9.15 p.m.) An event which will interest anglers the world over is announced by the friends of Mr Tuppen Davis, a rich American business man and lover of England, who died recently. They have arranged with *Mr Dunn, the Mayor of Stafford (England), for the purchase of Izaak Walton’s cottage at Shallovvford and its preservation As a museum. It will be stocked with books of anglers’ lore contributed by Americans. Five hundred and fifty pounds for the purchase and restoration of the cottage was contributed in honour of Mr Davies. Izaak Walton willed the cottage for charitable purposes, and it w'as owned by the King Edward VI Grammar School. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
