THE WEATHER
The weather yesterday was again very, wet, steady rain falling all day. A considerable improvement took place in the late afternoon, the evening remaining fine. The barometer is rising steadily. (Fbom Ode Own Cobbespondents.) QUEENSTOWN, December 12. Trying hot winds, winch were blowing in strong gusts all day yesterday, were followed by a rainfall during the night, and pleasant cooling showers to-day. The countrv will benefit considerably, as the wind had dried up the land very much, and vegetation would have suffered accordingly. ALEXANDRA, December 12. A steady heavy rain has fallen all day. and still continues, but is slackening off It is of great value to the district. So much rain at this time of the year is unusual. bur. a welcome saving to orchard's!? and pastoralists. Feed is abundant, and the fruit crop is first-class.
