(Received Dec. 11, at 5.5 p.m.) The London branch of the Australian Natives’ Association pave a reception to Sir Bertram Mackennal at the Colonial Institute. Many Anglo-Australians attended to congratulate Sir Bertram Mackennnl upon his election as Academician. The London branch has decided to extend its membership to include those closely associated with Australia and New Zealand though not native born.—A. and N.Z. ROME, December 11. The Pope, in addressing the Consistory, reiterated his protests against the solution of the Palestinian Question*, and announced that he would renew his appeal on behalf of suffering Russia to the Brussels Conference.
