POPULATING THE DOMINIONS. APPLICATIONS TOR FREE PASSAGES. Pres. Association—By Telegraph—Copyrigh' LONDON, September 29. The British Passengers' Agents’ Association gave a luncheon for the purpose of forwarding the Empire settlement scheme. Colonel Amery, the chief speaker, said that to the end of August 270,000 persons had applied for free passages. At the moment Canada was leading in the number of actual sailings, with Australia close behind. The various Agents-General were among the guests.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
