(Pee United Peess Association.) WELLINGTON, August 3. Amended regulations to the Education Act, and regulations for the adjustment of teachers’ salaries appear in the Gazette. The value of imports for the quarter ended June 30 amounted to £7,486,653, compared with £12,532,365 for the corresponding quarter last year. The amounts for the four chief 'centres axe:—Auckland, £2 485,794; Wellington, £2,1495,866; Lyttelton, £1,290,525; Dunedin, £775,682. The electoral districts m which the poll shall close at 7 o’clock, according to the Gazette, are Auckland West, East, and Central; Avon, Bullor, Chalmers; Christchurch, North, East, and South ; Dunedin, North, Central, South, and West; Eden, Grey Lynn, Hamilton, Hutt, Invercargill, Lytidton, Manakau, Motneka, Napier, Nelson, Oamaru, Palmerston, Payne 11, Riccartoni Roskill, Thames, ’iimaru, Waitaki, Waite mala, Wanganui, Wellington North, Central. East, South, and Suburbs; and Westland 'The Telegraph Department announces that from to-morrow telephone facilities will be available between Auckland and Wellington' continuously. This means that instead of communication being available only between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., it will be possible to speak at any time during the day or night.
