ESTATES OF MINORS
VARIOUS DIFFICULTIES. (Feom Oub Own Corbkspohdent.l WELLINGTON, July 20. A question of importance to trustees was raised in the House of Representatives by Mr A. D. M'Lood (Wairorapa) to-day. The member said that there was a serious difficulty of cases whore, owing to the slump, estates had been thrown back • into the hands of trustees. These were the estates of minors under the protection of the court. Tho trustees in some instances considered that it would be better for the estate to reduce the mortgages in order to keep good men on the properties, but there was no power to make such an arrangement in the oases of estates owned by minors. Tho Prime Minister said that he would bo glad to look into the matter. He was aware from personal experience that the responsibilities of trustees, under existing conditions, were very serious. If it was possible to make matters easier, without doing any injustice to the juniors for whom tlie trustees do the work,, he would be glad to do it. He would discuss the matter with tho law draughtsman.
