SALES OF SURPLUS LUMBER AMERICAN PROSECUTIONS. Ptcm Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, July 19. Under the authority of Congress, the Department of Justice has begun prosecutions for war frauds. A special grand jury has indicted 10 individuals ana concerns for conspiracy to defraud the Government of l,800,0C)O dollars in connection with sales of surplus lumber which was left over after the war.—A. and N.Z.
