N.G. Bro. Butcher and his subordinate officers, whose tenure of office expires this month, are to be congratulated on tie good work they have done for the Loyal Centenary Lodge. The election and installation of officers will eventuate at the next meeting. N.G. Bro. Downes resumed office in the Loyal Albion Lodge at the usual fortnightly meeting. P.G. Bro. E. Longrvorth, who filled the vacancy during the absence from Dunedin of the N.G., wag accorded a vote of thanks. Attendance was above the average, the Prov G.M. and a number of visiting brethren being present. The presentation of a silver-mounted walking stick to P.G. Bro. Corrington, who has completed 50 years of Oddfellowship, was a feature of the meeting. Bro. Corrington, on rising to return thanks, related many incidents relative to the early days of the lodge and the early history of Dunedin. The half-yearly summoned meeting of Loyal Valley was particularly well attended, several members of sister lodges being present. The District Executive was represented by tlve Prov. G.M., Prov. D.G.M . Prov. C.S., and Prov Treasurer. Per. Sec. Bro. \V. Couper, of Loyal Oamaru, was also present. Three new members were initiated. The Prov. G.M., assisted by officers of the district and officers of sister lodges, controlled tt,ie installation of officers, those elected being N.G, Bro. J, Mitchell, Y.G, Bro. H. Kirkwood, B.S. Bro. W. Dawson. Warden Bro. Cockbum, and the Guardian. It was resolved that the name of the retiring G.M. be placed on, the merit board, and that past officers receive their respective degrees. The election of officers at the half-yearly summoned meeting of the Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge, held on June 20, resulted as follows: —N.G. Bro. F. Austin, V.G. Bro. Cumberbeach, E.S. Bro. H. MTntosh, Warden Bro. J. Henderson, and Guardian Bro. A. Lawson. The Prov, G.M., assisted by the Prov. D.G.M. and officers of sister lodges, controlled the installation. Four new members were initiated. N.G. Bro. Rogers presided over a splendid attendance, amongst which were representatives of Loyal Dunedin and Centenary Lodges. Members of the Loyal United Juvenile Lodge are not lacking in enthusiasm. Their meetings are bright and the work performed particularly where ritual is concerned, would be a credit to any adult lodge. The officers for the ensuing term are N.G. Bro. Rosenbrock, V.G Bro. Henderson, B.S. Bro. Russell, G.M. Bro. Tyrrell. Warden Bro. Wilson, and Guardian Bro. Timms. The installation of these pffioors was ably controlled by G.M. Bro, Jackson, of Loyal Oaversham Juvenile Branch. The shooting competition, which has been held during the last few months, was concluded at the last fortnightly meeting, prizes being awarded to Bro. L. Henderson 1, Bro. F. Wilson 2, and Bro. A. Timms 3. The lodge has entered for the efficiency competition.
