DUNEDIN ORPHANS’ CLUB
SECOND OPEN NIGHT. The Dunedin Orphans’ Club held the second open night of the 1922 season in St. Paul’s Schoolroom last evening, when there was a very large attendance of members. Bro. H. F. Nees, who presided, apologised for the unavoidable) absence of the president (Bro. G. W* M'lntosh). A resolution of sympathy with Bro. E. H. Cavell in the death of his wife was passed, the members, standing in silence. ■ Nine new members were each invested with their badge of membership. An excellent programme was provided, the orchestra, under Bro. J. Coombs, rendering four selections in a highly accomplished manner. Bros. B. J. Mee, A. N. Watson, S. ,’G. Angell, C. Hanna, and A. S. Cookson contributed songs, and recitations were given by Bros. W. J. Hutton and E. Hendry. A quartet by “The Idlers” was received, like all the other items, with loud applause.
