MOSGIEL BRASS BAND
There was a good attendance of those interested in the Mosgiel Brass Band at the annual meeting. Mr William Allan presided.
The report referred to the appointment during the year of the present bandmaster (Mr A. G. Haigih). There were 19 players on the active list and nine ' lads in the learners’ class. The bazaar held in 1990 enabled the committee to procure a new set of instruments. A supply of new musio would be necessary. A concert and dance had augmented the funds to the extent of £l2 Is 6d. It would be necessary to take steps to raise funds to meet the final payments for the new instruments, which would fall due early next year. The committee expressed its thanks to the Borough Council for the use of a practice room, and for its donation of funds. It also thanked those townsfolk who had helped to augment the funds, and the several organisations that for. warded donations. Steps had been taken to have the band incorporated.
