ADVANCED PRICES. (Pin United Phbss Association.) i AUCKLAND, May 16. The fourth and final wool sale for the season was hold to-day, 2988 bales being offered. There was a full attendance of buyers, and competition was extremely keen. Bidding was spirited from the opening, and prices for all wools showed a substantial advance compared with thp March sale. The most pronounced increase was in lambs, which showed an advance of lid to 2d. Medium and coarse crossbred, which constituted the bulk of the catalogue, showed an increase of lid; inferior crossbred. Id; fine crossbred, id; pieces, id to 3d. The wool was somewhat uneven in quality, and included a large proportion of seedy and inferior, though some bright good quality clips were included. -The offerings could be classed as of average quality for a final sale. Of the total offering of 2988 bales, 98 per cent, was sold, most of tlie wool being for overseas buyers. The following is the range of prices, the March figures being given in parenthesis: Average half bred 12d to 16d (12d to 13d); average crossbred, B|d to 9jd (8d to 9d); medium crossbred super, 9i to 10id (83d to 9|d); average, 7id to 9d (6d to 8d); inferior 5d to sid (4id to sid); coarse crossbred average, 4id to 6d (4d to sid); inferior, 4d to 6d (3id to 4d); lambs, fine, 9d to l&Jd (?id to Sid); medium, 6d to 8d (5d to 6id); seedy and. inferior, 4d to sid (3d to 4id); bellies and pieces, crossbred, good super, sid to 6id (5d to 6d); low medium, 2id to 3id (2d to 3d); crutohings, 2id to 4id (3d to 4id); locks, lid to 3d (id to lid).
