(Received May 3, at- 5.5 p.m.) Harry Summerfield, vyho lives close to Alligator River, was, standing on the bank when a' large alligator seized hgn. bv the leg and dragged him into the water. He jamjned his thnmb into one of the saurian’s eyes and forced it to release him, but it then seized and broke his wrist. He poked his thnmb into the other eye, blinding the alligator. He then escaped, badly injured, and was taken to hospital.
