The executive of th© Otago Hunt met last evening, Mr B. S. Irwin presiding. Messrs A. Trotter and E. J. Docherty were added to the committee os representing the Middlemarch branch. Tire Chairman submitted a copy of the programme for the non-totalisator meeting, to be held at Middlemarch on June 23, and recommended that a copy be sent to the Minister of Internal Affairs, together with an application for permission to hold th© proposed meeting.—This was agreed to. Owing to the trotting fixture on Saturday it was to alter the opening run to May 13. In connection, with the hunt’s annual racing permit, it was decided to amend the date to September 17. Messrs T. Fogg, R. Acton Adams, H. Gourley, A. W. Brown, R. Conn, and J Mowat were appointed a sub-committc© to draw up a suitable programme of races, with slakes approximately £BSO. PROFITS IN SIX MONTHS NEW ZEALAND GLASS WORKS (LTD.). it is ihe intention of the directors of the Now Zealand Glass Works (Ltd.) to erect an initial plant at a cost of £23,000, so that dividends can bo earned immediately, whITo the completion ot the total works goes ahead unhampered. This initial plant will ■produce 400 gross of quart bottles a week, valued at £IOOO. The cost being estimated at £587 7s 2d, this loaves a weekly profit of £412 12s lOd. Working for 11 months a year, and ollowing for cost of overhaul during th© idle month, 33 1-3 per cent, depreciation,. overhead expenses, etc., the nett yearly profit from the initial plantalone is £12,878 i6s, while the completed works should earn four times this amount These figures are based on actual costs of March, 1922.
