MISHAP TO STEAMERS

When the steamer Tasmania was berthing at Bluff this morning the ebb tide caught her and carried her aground near the wharf. There was 30ft of water under the stern, and the bow was resting on a soft bottom. With the rising tide she began to move at 2.30 this afternoon, and two hours later the vessel was berthed, having v apparently sustained rio damage. • ’ THE NAVUA RETURNING. ' ONE PROPELLER LOST. A wireless message from the Navua, which' left for Suva at noon- on Monday. - states that the vessel lost her starboard propeller, and is returning to Auckland. She- encountered bad weather last night, ; and; .is making slow progress, but expects to arrive at daybreak to-day.
