(Received May 1, at 10.15 p.m.) The outbreak of a serious disease at Lowood, which was supposed to be ipeningitis and which caused the deaths of several children, has how appeared at Ipswich. Six deaths have occurred in the hospital and a number of other deaths are reported. Two children at Gatlow also succumbed. The disease is puzzling the doctors, and so far nothing has been discovered to serve as a precautionary measure. All the patients died after ’ a half to three days’ illness.
