ASTRONOMICAL NOTES FOR MAY
THE SUN. The sun’s path during the month of May will be in R.A. froth 2.31.37 to 4.30.11 in declination from 14.55.10 N. to 20.50.31, and in longitude from 40.19.14 to 69.14.6. THE MOON. Ihe phases of the'moon will be as follow: — First quarter sth 0.26 a.m. Full moon 11th 5.35 p.m. Last quarter 19th 5.47 p.m. New moon 27th 5.34 a.m. Perigee Bth 6.42 p.m. Apogee 20th 4.0 p.m. THE PLANETS. Mercury will be in R.A. from 3.2.6 to 5.58.55 and in north declination from 18.0. to 24.21.2. It will bo in perehelion on the Ist. at its greatest, elongation (22.37 E.) on the 23rd, and in conjunction with the nioon on the 28th. Venus will lie in R.A. from 3.53.12 to 6.30.49, and in north declination from 20.37.32 to 24.45.54. It will be in prehelion on the 26th, and in conjunction with the moon on the 28th. Mars will be in R.A. from 17.38.6 to 17.24.21, and in south declination from 24.0. to 25.55.4. It will be stationary on the 7th, and in conjunction with the moon on The 15th .
Jupiter will be in R.A. from 12.42.13 to 12.35.25, and in south declination from to 2.14.44. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the Bth. Saturn will be in R.A. from 12.10.24 lo 12.6.59, and in north declination from 1.41.58 to 1.57.45. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 7th.
