RATS AND MICE
PLAGUE IN NEW WALES,
Proas Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.
SYDNEY, April 29. The ravages in the grain areas are not confined to mice. In some districts rats, which during recent years have spread rapidly from the coast inland, and are still pushing out in increasing numbers, are adding greatly to the havoc in the wheatfield stacks. Complaint is’ made that the use of poison in destroying rabbits has led to the destruction of the natural enemies of mice and rats, and has permitted their abnormal increase.
