EFFECTIVE BOMBING RAID.

J?Maa Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.

VANCOUVER, April 29. (Received April 50, at 5.5 p.m.) Shanghai and Canton despatches report that pine warships, being the last of the Peking Government's navy, surrendered ti> Dr Sim Yat Sen after three bombing planes had hit one ship, killing 20 and injuring 30 sailors. The navy’s loyalty was suspected owing to the refusal of the commanders to pledge neutrality during Dr Sun Yat Sen’s northern expedition. Fearing bombardment of Canton, it was de- ( cided to demand the surrender of the v;arsbips. The latter refused and cleared for action, whereupon the planes were ordered to concentrate upon the cruiser Haichi, which was Quickly put out of action.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
