DELHI, April 28. An inquiry into the Calcutta gaol mutiny elicited that two Hindu and five Mahommedan convicts were killed and about 40 convicts and gaolers bounded. The troops have been withdrawn, but armed police are guarding the neighbourhood. One escaped convict was recaptured yesterday. The Madras Government has sanctioned a compaasiohate grant of 300 rupees to the families of 70 Moplahs who lost their lives in the train asphyxiating tragedy. Reportsrfrom Simla state that it has been decided that all British officers and men, irrespective of their unit, who served in India during the war, shall be eligible for the British war medal, whether they entered the war theatre or not.—A. and N.Z.
