THE R.S.A. ELECTION.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib,—At the recent annual election of officebearers of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association several of,,the successful candidates were, I contend; elected illegally. , The rules provide, “that the members for executive position must be financial." On the chairman’s ruling a vote was taken and two members or more were elected who ware unfinancial. One of the members stated that he was unfinancial. Why, then, Sir, should he be elected? The rules even state that “only those members financial for the year ending March 31, 1923, shall be entitled to vote on matters affecting the ensuing year.” If this applies to voters, what then is toe position of men who stand for office-bearers of the association? It should 1)e added that fully 80 per cent, of those present at toe meeting who voted were unfinancial.—l am, etc., ( Eetubked Soldier.
