A SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR.

A bazaar held at Archerficld College on Saturday afternoon to raise money towards a fund for the renovation of the Nisbet' Home, Anderson's Bay, proved very successful, no less than £165 7» lid being secured. The staff and pupils of the school had the assistance of a number of friends frond outside, including the Young Women’s Clubs of First Church and Knox Church, both of which are actively interested in P.S.S.A. work. The bazaar was opened by the Rev. G. H. Balfour, who explained that the Nisbet Home received its name on account of the pioneer work the late Dr Nisbet did as convenor of the P.S.S.A. The object of the home was to provide a place for the very young children, a department the need of which was greatly felt and for which help was much desired. It may be added that later on it is hoped to establish a kindergarten in connection with it. The school rooms were moely decorated, and the various stalls, laden with beautiful and useful gifts, presented a highly attractive appearance. The attendance was large, and brisk business was transacted. The details of the various stalls are as follow—Work stall (including donations to the amount of £l6), £7B 15s; cake and produce stall (First Church Women’s Club), £26 15s 6d; sweets stall (Knox Church Women’s Club), £l4 15s; refreshments, £7 9a 3d; flower stall, £7 Os 34d; Standard VI. and Form 3, £ls Is Id; children’s stall, £ls. . . Mrs Nisbet took the opportunity during the afternoon of expressing personally to various friends how very grateful she herself and the staff were for the gene-nus assistance and help that had been forthcoming to make the bazaar a success. Among the gifts was a splendid doll’s bed, the purchaser of which returned is to Mrs Nisbet as a present to the home. It was immediately embellished with lovely bedclothing by other friends, and the gift was perfected by a child, who made it the resting-place of a pretty doll that had just oome into her possession.
