The celebration of the anniversary of the Glenaven Methodist Church was concluded on Wednesday evening by a tea and public meeting, presided over by the Rev. Kugby Pratt, when a most enjoyable concert was provided by the choir and’visiting friends. The church treasurer' (Mr O. Williams) read a satisfactory balance sheet and thanked various officers for work faithfully done throughout another year. The opportunity was taken of welcoming the Kev. L. A. G. Brookes to his new sphere of work, short addresses of welcome being delivered by the chairman. Mr Aslin (for i..e Trinity Circuit), Mr P. Williams (for the odenaven congregation), and Mr S. G. Maofarlane (for the Sunday school and young people’s departments). HUPMOBILE LEADS! The Hupp has won its way to permanent supremacy in the motor world by sheer merit. I* “ rightly known throughout the world as an extraordinarily good car. The main reason for this pre-eminence is the ability of the Comfort Car to remain at its best for months at a time, without the need of expert attention. The Hupp users know that this means faithful service from the car itself. The higher and harder the hills the more widely and more favourably does the Hupp come into prominence. No road is too severe for it, no ordinary obstacle beyond its capabilities. Its l record of performance stands out as a thing distinct, unique and unusual. It is a definite, positive quality of performance, uncommon among motor cars. The first expense of the Hupp is more than counterbalanced by its length of life. It represents extreme value for expenditure. Agent; W. J. P. il'Oqllooh, Dunedin. —Advt.
