MORNINGTON BAPTIST CHURCH
Anniversary services in connection with the Mornington Baptist Church wore held last Sunday, the preachers for the occasion bring the Revs. E. Weston and R. 11. Knowles Kompton. Solos were rendered by Miss Inglis and Mr Swan. Last evening a social gathering was held, and was largely attended. The chair was taken by Pastor Benfell, who lyul associated with him the Revs. R. Rame, Guy Thornton, and C. Dallaston. The secretary’s report showed the church to bo in a healthy condition. The membership had increased, and work generally was in a forward state. 'Hie financial position was satisfactory, in view of the fact that the mortgage had been cleared off the property and various amounts had been spent in maintenance and renovation. A very attractive programme was presented, in addition to suitable addresses by the Revs. R. Rame and Guy Thornton. The choir rendered several anthems; solos wore given by Misses Wilkinson and Wilson and Mr Crewos. a. duet by Misses Hogg and MT-ennan, and a recitation by Miss E. Hilliker Mr P. Walker was in charge of the, choir, and Mr Glover acted as accompanist.
