ANNIVERSARY DAY IX THE FURLIC SCHOOLS. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —T wish to add my protest to that of "Parent." in your columns this morningin connection with the keeping of Anniversary Day as a public holiday. Surely I lie head masters of our public schools are sadlv lacking in love of Otajro when they have the children go to school on Anniversary Day so that the holiday may be held on some other occasion. I understand that tho children of the Fort L'hnlniers School were told that the holiday would be added to their Easter holidays. Is that the way in which teachers inslil into (he children's minds the meaning of Anniversary Day? - the day when those brave old pioneers landed in thU <;lo-ious country to face unknown hardships. Wliiie tho reniahiiiuT few of (hose glorious and brave im i ,-ind women were celebration- I In- dav in the Early llrdl (heir children's children' had'lo go to school instead of having a holiday. Tiet us hope Ihe head masters, if they are to blame, will not allow this to happen afrain. - 1 am. etc... Oi.o School Roy. Porl Chalmers. March 25.
