OTAGO EXPANSION LEAGUE

TAIERI BRANCH. The Taieri branch of the Otago Expansion League held its annual meeting at Mosgiel last night. There was an attendance of 16 members. Mr Hanna presided. The annual report showed that the membership of the branch had reached a stage where efficient service could be rendered to the community. Details were given of the formation of the branch from the inaugural meeting in June, 1921. Daring rite year the branch had been jn close; ana oardial connection with the Mosgiel Borough Council, and matters brought under the notice of the council were receiving attention. The branch had succeeded in geting name plates made, painted, and erected in the streets. The committee looked forward to another year in which it was hoped to give more effective service to Mosgiel and the Taieri. The balance sheet showed a small credit. - The /election of office-bearers resulted ah follows: Mr Hanna; vice-presi-dent, Mr John Wright, sen.; secretary and treasurer, Mr Paterson; committee—Messrs Bacon, H. Swallow, Holland, T. Smith, Barclay, T. Williams, D. H. Waldia, T, Smeaton, C. Pearce, Rev. C. J. Bush-King; auditors, Messrs Mitchell and Fogo. It was recommended to the new committee to hold a social evening during the year on the lines of that held in 1921. •.
