TWO BROTHERS DROWNED. (Pm Csited Press AbsooiatiovJ ' FOXTON, March 27. A drowning fatality occurred at Robin, son’s Lake yesterday afternoon. Samuel Baker and Peter Baker, brothers, aged 26 years and 24 years respectively, both married, were drowned. They went fishing m a boat for eels, accompanied hr a lad named John Guppell. Th© boat swamped. Samuel Baker was assisting the boy when he saw his brother in difficulties, and swam back to him, but bofn disappeared. The bodies have not yet been recovered. MOTOR COLLISION. Deceased had been in ill-health for some time. INQUEST. WELLINGTON, March 27. The verdict at the inquest on Eva Simea was that death was due to general Peritonitis, xollowing septic premature labour. FOUND DROWNED. FOXTON, March 27. The adjourned inquest concerning the finding of the body of an unknown man above high-water mark about three-quarters of a. mile from the river mouth last Saturday week wai held this afternoon. The " . police stated that they were unable to find a clue as to his identity, and they presumed the body had been washed in from the' sea. The clothes had the mark of a Christchurch tailor, and the initials J. J. A. were on a linen collar. A verdict of found drowned was returned.
