St. Kilda Lodge met in the Methodist Hall on March 16, Bro. T. S. Birrell presiding. The business taken included the completion of arrangements to further the lodge membership. Notifications from the South Otago District Lodge were received, and the official handbook for the current year was on issue. An invitation to be present at the institution of the Highgate Juvenile Lodge was also received and accepted. The vote to the visitors was acknowledged by D.D.G.M. Bro. J. Skinner, P.D.D.G.M. Bro. D. Swinton (Unitv), and P.G. Bro. C. Bolton (Kensington Juveniles!. Prior to closing an enjoyable hour was spent in social intercourse. After necessary business had been dealt with at the last meeting of Pioneer Lodge, an adjournament was declared, and visitors to the number of 50 were welcomed, wbo had attended to enjoy a progressive euchre evening. An enjoyable entertainment was terminated with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” The usual meeting of the Kensington Juvenile Lodge, held last Saturday in the Kensington Hall, and presided over by N.G. Bro. Eric Homan, was fairly well attended. Sick claims were passed to two members who were under the doctor’s care. An invitation was received and accepted from the D.D.G.M. to attend the institution of a juvenile lodge at Itoalyn on Saturday, when the officers would perform the initiatory ceremony. During recess a rehearsal of the charges peculiar to this degree was held, tiie different officers acquitting themselves very creditably. The vote to the visitors was acknowledged by the D.D.G.M., after which Iho boys enjoyed a pleasant time at different games. Noble Grand Bro. L. C. Robinson presided over a successful meeting of Unity Lodge on March 13, when N.G. Bro. Wybej and the officers and members of Leith Lodge visited officially. The usual correspondence and sick claims were disposed of, and invitations accepted from Pioneer Lodge to attend their nest meeting, and from the D.D.G.M. to be present at the opening of the Highgate Juvenile Lodge oh Saturday. During the evening four candidates were (admitted, and three proposals received. Owing to business finishing late the card tournament with Leith Lodge had to be postponed. At the close of the meeting supper was handed round, and the toast to tho visitors responded to by P.G. Bro. Duncan (Pioneerl, V.G. Bro. Wyber (Leith), Bro. Robinson (Linden), and P.G. Bro. Seaton (Hereweka).
