An important work to be undertaken by the Wellington Harbour Board, according to the engineer's annual report, is the extension of the Miramar wharf by 200 ft and the strengthening of the structure. The extension is designed to provide for the larger class of vessels requiring oil fuel from the Vacuum Company’s storage tanks at Miramar. The proposed strengthening of the old wharf will enable coal-handling cranes to be installed for discharging coal.
