ALLEGED IMPOSITION
COLLECTING FOR RETURNED SOLDIERS. ' (Pm United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 21. It has been brought to (he notice of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association that certain persons in different parts of the dominion have been collecting money from the public upon (he representation that the sums collected will be used in aid of disabled soldiers. In some cases a small book of poems has been sold, it being represented that the proceeds were to go to aid disabled soldiers. The Returned Soldiers’ Association states that such persons have no authority from the Returned Soldiers’ Association to obtain money, and the association has no knowledge whether the moneys collected are used for the objects for vrtiich. they are professedly obtained. The association knows of no body which collects funds in tjiis way. The public are warned against giving money to any persons unless the credentials are beyond question.
