BRITAIN'S DREAM
EMPIRE OF FREEDOM. PRAISE FROM AMERICA. VANCOUVER, March 3. “ Egypt is free, but remains within tho sphere of the British Empire,” says tho New York Herald, in an editorial article. “ No friend of the Egyptians could wish it otherwise. England is progressing in her dieam of Empire. Thinking onlookers see that in a world half-crazed as a result of the war, England has not lost her head, nor has she lost sight of what made the British Empire what it is. “ Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa are not subject States, but daughters in their mother’s house, and each mistress in her own. South Africa was astonished when Sir Henry CampbellBannerman extended his hand to Britain’s late foe. The foe grasped it, and has had no oauso to regret having done so. The Irish people has at last taken England’s hand in friendship, and unless the future betrays the past, not regret it. It is Egypt now and it will b© India next.”
