MORE IMMIGRANTS
772 ARRIVING AND EXPECTED. No fewer than 772 immigrants have r.rrived or are expected to reach New Zealand within the course of the next seven They comprise New Zealand nominated, Imperial Oversea Settlement Association and domestic classes. On board the New Zealand Shipping Company’s Remuera, which arrived at Auckland on Sunday from Southampton, was a total of 265, the ShawSavill liner Corinthic (also from Southampton), which arrived at W cllington on Saturday night brought a further batcli of 268 prospective settlers, while the complement of the Federal Company’s Dorset, which should make port at Auckland on Thursday from Liverpool, totals 245. There were 25 domestic servants on the Remuera under the charge of Mrs Lisle Price, and a similar number with Miss Alma Dale in charge mi the Dorset. Hie following are the allotted towns to which the immigrants will proceed to as stated; — _ Remuera: Auckland, 72: Napier, 21: New Plymouth. 6; Gisborne. 8: Nelson, 2; Westport and Greymouth, f; Lyttelton. Timaru, Oamaru, 35; Dunedm, 15; Southland. 2. _ . ri . The Remuera arrived from Southampton with immigrants. She had an uneventful passage, except for rough weather since Wednesday last. A baby was born yesterd°y‘ WELLINGTON, March 20. The Corinthic, which arrived from Southampton to-day, brought 260 immigrants. A fireman named Charles Watts jumped overboard during the voyage. The vessel also brought five officers and 82 men for H.M.S. Veronica.
