The city treasurer and his staff had a very busy day yesterday, and at his office was to be seen throughout the day a long queue of people drawn up patiently waiting their turn. The explanation was that yesterday* was the day of the readjustment of no less than £426,000 of corporation loans For many months past the corporation has been issuing deposit receipts to investors, and yesterday was the first day on which these receipts could be exchanged for the newly-issued debentures. The result was a rush of investors anxious to secure their debentures at the earliest possible moment. At an earlier stage the Mayor (Mr J. S. Douglas) and the city treasurer (Mr H. H.
