A JOCKEY’S EARNINGS
THE ASSOCIATION’S PERCENTAGE.
(Pck United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 31. In the Magistrate’s Court Harold Vincent M’Sweeney appeared to answer a judgment summons issued by the Jockeys’ Association lor pnpaid fees. M’Sweeney said he had earned only about £l5O since the judgment was obtained in July last; but under cross-examination he admitted that a list of mounts, totalling about £3lO since August, was practically correct, but ho said his expenses had been heavy. He denied having any betting transactions with bookmakers. Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., sentenced M’Sweeney to 19 days’ imprisonment, the order to be suspended on payment of £2 per month. *
