BOXING IN KENSINGTON
USE OF THE ALBERT HALL, PROTESTS BY RESIDENTS. LONDON, January 15. A curious aftermath of the Cook-Oarpen-tier contest is reflected in protests to tho Mayor of Kensington from residents in tho vicinity of the Albert Hall against staging boxing there. They contend that the hall was built for the cultivation of music and art, not fisticuffs. The invasion of mixed crowds of vendors of roasted chestnuts, banana-so’.lers with dirty barrows, and bogus programme sellers, is described as an outrage against the amenities of this select, aristocratic neighbourhood. Tho protest has been communicated to the authorities of the Albert Hall.
