OTAGO ANNUAL REGATTA

A meeting of the .Committee of the above wee held m the Council Chambers, Port Chalmers, last night, Mr J. M‘D. Stevenson presiding’. The ' Railway Department wrote . granting the usual concessions in connection with the regatta.—Received, The O.T. and M.B. Association wrote stating that the dates of the Sanders Cup races would he fixed by the delegatee on their arrival, and approving of the programme submitted, subject to one or two slight amendments.—Received. Mr H. E. Sleigh wrote accepting the position of patron, and inclosing donation of £2 2s.—Received with thanks. The Private Secretary to the GovernorGeneral wrote thanking the committee for its invitation to the regatta, and stating that if he is able to reach Dunedin in time, and' that there io no race for the Sanders Cup on that date, he will be pleased io be present at the regatta.—Received. The Secretary reported that the following entries had been received:—Youths’ Double Sculls, 6 crews; Maiden Double Sculls, 5 crews; Youths’ Pours, 7 crews; Junior Doable Scu’ls, 5 crews; Maiden Fours, 10 crows; Youths’ Pairs, 8 crews; Junior Fours, 7 crews; Maiden Pairs, 9 crows; Senior Fours, 5 crews; Junior Pairs, IT crews; Senior Pairs, 5 crews. Motors, 6 h.p. and under, 8 entries; Allcomers’ Motor Boat Race, 4 entries; First-class Yachts, S entries. Sailing Races for Fourteen Footers.—lt was resolved that all fourteen-footers bo eligible to make post entries for this race. The Secretary also reported that an excellent entry hod been received for the swimming rapes, and; that lor the boys’ sailing races, dinghy races far boys, end novelty swimming events pest entriea .vfould be received. The question of holding a amoks concert was left in the hands of Mr J. H. Crawford to arrange, after ascertaining what social functions were being held during the week for vtiritoiw. . Mr T.
