(Fbom Ohb Own Cohbespondent.) QUEENSTOWN, January 27. Last night ’ Mrs MSUbesney, proprietress of the Junction Hotel - at Arthur’s Point, and her son, Mr J. M‘Chesney, were entertained at. a social and dance, by their many friends in the .district 1 on the occasion ,of their ', t»tireHiej)t ftoih' briairii|ss and! prospective departure from Wakatipu. The gathering, which took place in Mr -J. Cockburn’a born, was attended by prominent residents of Queenstown and . Arrowtown, as .well as .by representatives of outlying districts. Mr J. Cookburn (chairman), the Mayor of Queenstown (Mr A. Simson), Messrs R. M. Paterson, (J. H. Romans, T. J. Colter. !L. Lee, J; ■ M'Milllan, J. H. Lewis, and Dr Anderson all spoke-in most, appreciative terms of Mrs MUhesney’s sterling worth, unbounded hospitality, great Christian charity, and estimable citizenship.
