The condition of the bridges on the road from Auckland to Muriwai has been considered by the Waitemata County Council (says the New Zealand Herald). The cost of replacing the present bridges with permanent concrete structures was estimated by the county 'engineer to bo about £BO,OOO. Tile advisability of striking a bridge rate in order to carry out the improvements was discussed by the council, but owing to present difficulties the project of rebuilding the bridges has been deferred.
