On© of the last letters signed by Sir Arthur Pearson before his tragic death in December was an appeal to the readers of tho Otago Daily Times for continued support for Dio Fresh Air Fund, tho object of which is to bring a. littl© sunshine into tho lives of tho children who live in tho drab portions of tho large towns and cities of the United. Kingdom. A gift of Is 3d will pay for a clay’s outing for a child; £1 will pay for a fortnight’s holiday by tho sea or in tho country for a child; £l3 will pay for a day's outing for 200 poor children with tho necessary attendants to look after them.
